Dr. Mark Burge

Biography: Dr. Mark Burge is a program director at IARPA. Previously he served as a program director at the National Science Foundation (NSF) for computer science and cyber security programs. While a tenured computer science professor, he co-authored the three-volume set, “Principles of Digital Image Processing” which has been translated into both German and Chinese. He is the co-author of Springer’s “Handbook of Iris Recognition”. He spent seven years as a research scientist with the Swiss Federal Institute of Science (ETH) in Zurich, Switzerland and the Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria. He is a senior member of the IEEE and holds patents in the fields of biometrics and image processing.
